Togiak belly boats: honest brand coverage

Togiak float tubes.

Togiak is the budget entrant: a two-model line sold mostly through Amazon and a handful of Cabela’s stores. We fished the two current models over 18 sessions on Green Mountain stillwaters and one late-season week on a Snake River backwater. Verdict: the Togiak Trekker is a real budget pick under $150; the Togiak Explorer is a pass.

The two boats in the current line

Togiak Trekker

7.0/ 10

U-boat at $139. 250 pound capacity, Boston valves, two pockets, mesh apron. The cheapest boat we would put an angler on for a full season.

Verdict: The right pick if the budget is hard-capped under $150. Buy it, fish it hard, replace it in three seasons.

Honest shortcoming: The mesh apron sags into the water and drags on the kick. Cut the mesh out or replace it with ripstop panels.

Togiak Explorer

5.4/ 10

V-boat at $229. Marketed as premium; single-chamber PVC hull under the second wrap.

Verdict: Skip it. Buy the Caddis Navigator at $269 or stretch to the Classic Accessories Cumberland.

Honest shortcoming: Single-chamber PVC is a hard no for any water deeper than eight feet. A pinhole here is not a story; it is a swim.
